The Xootr front brake pad looks small but certainly gets the job done. It's big enough to gently slow the scooter down without suddenly grabbing or throwing things out of balance.
Beginners are tempted to rely on the front brake by itself, and sometimes don't even realize that the Xootr also has a very effective rear brake that's foot operated.
It takes a bit of practice, but the results are well worth the effort.
